I further have to add to my comments of MAR 03, 2014 @ 22:46:52:

A very clear testimony of Matthew:

Matthew 13:34

“Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable”

http://biblehub.com/matthew/13-34.htm

It is for this that I say that the Christians should believe the core teaching of Jesus as mentioned in Matthew 22:36-40:

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Matthew 22:36-40

It makes it very clear that Jesus never declared himself a god or son of god in literal and physical terms; and whatever Jesus mentioned elsewhere the Christians should take that as symbolic and in parables terms and interpret it in the light of these clear teachings. It is a common sense approach.

Had he been a god, in literal and physical sense, he would have told it in unequivocal and straightforward terms?

Whom he was afraid of that he could not declare his god-head himself? Why did he leave this the most important issue for others to announce posthumous?

Even a weak human being won’t make such a blunder.

Thanks

Quoting your words:

“If there’s no literal Creation, then there can’t be a literal Fall, and from there no literal Original Sin, which means there’s no need for a literal Jesus to die and be apparently risen again. There might not even be a real hell or heaven to threaten or entice people with.” Unquote

Quran here comes to the rescue of the Bible for correct understanding of the things lost its originality due to the manipulation of the scribes of Bible.

Taking the narrative of Adam’s creation as literal is a misunderstanding of the scribes and is wrong. Adam was not the first man created/evolved; man might have evolved in millions of years as science has deciphered it rightly now. Adam and Eve were the first people chosen for the direct Converse with the One-True-God as the words ““[9] And the Lord God called Adam, and said to him: Where art thou?”
It also is the mistake of the eulogizers of science and scientists to take the Word Revealed on Krishna, Moses, Jesus etc as if they were writing text books of science; they never claimed as such.

It is easy for the ordinary/common man to understand the things in nutshell and in a symbolic or poetic way than in terms of the formulas, equations and other difficult terminologies of science; which is the job of Scientist to do and they must do it for the benefit of the human society.
So, please let it be simple. Let the masses understand life in easy terms.

Thanks

Jesus: three misconceptions allayed about him

June 23, 2013

First: Quran does not mention Jesus’ face was changed with Judas; it is a very wrong conception. Judas’ name is mentioned nowhere in Quran.

Second: Jesus neither died on Cross nor he was risen to heaven or sky from the Cross.
Quran mentions:
[23:51] And We made the son of Mary and his mother a Sign, and gave them shelter on an elevated land of green valleys and springs of running water.
http://www.alislam.org/quran/search2/showChapter.php?ch=23&verse=50

This verse hints towards Kashmir; where Jesus Yeshua Isa spent his later life and he died there and is buried there.

Third: Quran nowhere mentions about physical descent of Jesus. One who is placed in heaven does not come back to this world. Symbolic or metaphoric Second Coming of him has taken place in the form of the Promised Messiah 1835-1908. This is understandable and reasonable.

One could  view following documentaries in this connection:
