Quran Verse [29:70]: meaning Seekers after Truth surely would find Truth

January 15, 2014

Quran Verse [29:70]:

[29:70] And as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways. And verily Allah is with those who do good.
http://www.alislam.org/quran/search2/showChapter.php?ch=29&verse=69

One of my Atheist friends on another blog has cast doubt on the collection, compiling and preservation of Quran.

I quoted the above verse for the meaning and the reason mentioned in it; and I always do that.

One can, if one likes to, doubt its words; but if there is a reason mentioned in it and one finds it to be truthful; the reason should not be rejected just for the doubt in the literal text.

I think it is a general observation that one who strives and works hard for a thing, and leaves no stone unturned gets successful in the end.

I find similar sentence/writings in other cultures and religious scriptures of the world. If one searches one would testify to its Truth. It is full of wisdom.

One gets fruit of one’s labor to be sure. If one is not sure of one’s search one could never get into any scientific search/research.

For search in the path to reaching One-True-God; He has added assurance to the seekers; they should not be in doubt that they will fail; the honest search will be fruitful.

It is not a bad work to search; it is a positive step and is good for the individual and for the society.

Quran mentions in the very beginning of it while describing the merit and excellences of the believers/seekers:

[2:1] In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.
[2:2] Alif Lam Mim.
[2:3] This is a perfect Book; there is no doubt in it; it is a guidance for the righteous,
[2:4] Who believe in the unseen and observe Prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them;
[2:5] And who believe in that which has been revealed to thee, and that which was revealed before thee, and they have firm faith in what is yet to come.
2:6] It is they who follow the guidance of their Lord and it is they who shall prosper.

The believers/seekers have to be open-minded; and they must confirm the Truth in other scripture as much as it is in them; and the corruption done by scribes has to be pointed out if there is found any. This is what I do; and this is what Quran teaches one to do.

With all the reasons mentioned above; if one still doubts the text of the verse [29:70]: then one should identify the person who wrote or added it to Quran; and give the reference of the Quran which did not contain this verse or with other text in the original Arabic.

The burden of proof is on such claimant/s; no compulsion however.

Quran is neither ambiguous nor contradictory

March 18, 2010

Hi my global friends

I quote here verses from Quran, which my friends at http://www.rational-skepticism.org/ think are ambiguous.

I quote here the verses and invite my friends on that forum and others to discuss these verses here freely yet within the norms of decency, ethics and morals:

[21:29] He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they intercede not except for him whom He approves, and they act cautiously for fear of Him.
[21:30] And whosoever of them should say, ‘I am a God beside Him,’ him shall We requite with Hell. Thus do We requite the wrongdoers.
[21:31] Do not the disbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were a closed-up mass, then We opened them out? And We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? [21:32] And We have made in the earth firm mountains lest it should quake with them; and We have made therein wide pathways, that they may be rightly guided.
[21:33] And We have made the heaven a roof, well protected; yet they turn away from its Signs. [21:34] And He it is Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each gliding along in its orbit.
[21:35] We granted not everlasting life to any human being before thee. If then thou shouldst die, shall they live here for ever?
[21:36] Every soul shall taste of death; and We prove you with evil and good by way of trial. And to Us shall you be returned.
[21:37] And when the disbelievers see thee, they only make a jest of thee. They say: ‘Is this the one who makes an evil mention of your gods?’ While it is they themselves who reject with disdain the mention of the Gracious God.
[21:38] Man is made of haste. I will certainly show you My Signs but ask Me not to hasten. [21:39] And they say, ‘When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?’

Open for discussion for everybody.

Quran/Islam/Muhammad- open minded, nonracial and unbiased

The Quran is quite clear that Islamic paradise is a Muslim only “place” (for lack of a better description).

Hi friend Manfred

I don’t agree with you.

You have certainly misunderstood Quran/Islam/Muhammad.

[2:63] Surely, the Believers, and the Jews, and the Christians and the Sabians — whichever party from among these truly believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good deeds — shall have their reward with their Lord, and no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve.
[2:64] And remember the time when We took a covenant from you and raised high above you the Mount, saying: ‘Hold fast that which We have given you and bear in mind what is therein, that you may be saved.’
[2:65] Then you turned back thereafter; and had it not been for Allah’s grace towards you and His mercy, you would surely have been of the losers.

http://www.alislam.org/quran/search2/sh … 2&verse=56

The above verse very clearly mentions that those persons who have the truthful beliefs and those who do good deeds suited to the situation and time would go to heaven. One who is a Muslim in name only and does not have good beliefs and or good deeds has no claim to heaven, it is purely the grace and the mercy of the Creator-God Allah YHWH, nobody else has any monopoly on the heaven; no intercession, nothing of this sort.

Please amend your concept accordingly. Yours is a very narrow and stringent concept; nothing to do with Quran/Islam/Muhammad, who are very open minded, nonracial and unbiased.

I love Jesus and Mary as mentioned in Quran.

Thanks
