Quran does not mention Muhammad riding a winged horse while going to heaven

There is going a discussion between me and Arkenaten on the topic < The wrong Target by Debilis > in the comments; one could view the blog at <http://fidedubitandum.wordpress.com/2013/07/09/the-wrong-target/>

You are a Muslim who believes your god authored the Quran…and it is he actual words of a god.
You also believe Mohammed went to heaven and back on a winged horse.
You are a member of a religion that has a pedophile as its prophet. A prophet that, one of who’s last earthly acts of godliness was to instigate the invasion of Syria,
Yes, I can see you are the perfect candidate to engage in a common sense discussion.

What a Silly Person.

Quoting your words “You also believe Mohammed went to heaven and back on a winged horse.”

It is not mentioned in Quran; so I won’t have to believe in it.

I only defend things mentioned in Quran.

If you think that the above is mentioned in Quran; please quote the verse with the context.

Thanks for discussing.

So, are you saying Mohammed did NOT go to Heaven or get transported to Jerusalem on a winged horse ?

There is no mention of a winged horse going to heaven on whom Muhammad rode in Quran.

If you think that it is mentioned in Quran; please quote the verse with the context verses.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Note:  Sometime the Humanists attribute things which are not mentioned in Quran; hence their wrong concepts about Islam/Quran/Muhammad. Since the Humanists are supposed to be search and research minded people; it does not reflect good about their knowledge.

Let us see if Arkenaten is able to quote from Quran about the winged horse.

I would appreciate if she gets a good knowledge about Quran/Islam/Muhammad.

    Sura 17.

    • paarsurrey Says:

That is the Chapter/Sura of Quran; please mention the verse and the verses in the context for a meaningful understanding.

Thanks for your interest in Quran.

      • Arkenaten Says:

Many Muslims interpret this Sura as evidence that Mohammed did go to heaven on a winged horse.
I don’t believe it and really couldn’t care one way or another.
My question to you is simple.

Do you believe Mohammed went to heaven on a winged horse.

        Yes or No?

      • paarsurrey Says:

I think I have mentioned it so many times that it is not mentioned in Quran. If it is not mentioned in Quran; it need not to be believed by one.

      • Arkenaten Says:

So are you saying that YOU do not believe he went to heaven on a winged horse?

      • paarsurrey Says:

Please quote the verse of Quran to add confirmation of your saying this.

      • Arkenaten Says:

Do you believe Mohammed went to heaven on a winged horse?
        Yes or no?

      • paarsurrey Says:

The first and the foremost source of Islam is Quran which was authored by the one true God; it was not authored by Muhammad. All Muslims believe this whatever the denomination.

        That leaves no ambiguity.

I don’t know as to why you insist on yes or no.

Do you believe Mohammed went to heaven on a winged horse? Yes or no?

      • paarsurrey Says:

You mentioned in one of your comments Chapter/Sura 17 of Quran; I give here the verses from it. You can see there is no mention of any winged horse in it.

[17:1] In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.
[17:2] Glory be to Him Who carried His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Distant Mosque, the environs of which We have blessed, that We might show him some of Our Signs. Surely, He alone is the Hearing, the Seeing.
[17:3] And We gave Moses the Book, and We made it a guidance for the children of Israel, saying, ‘Take no guardian beside Me,
[17:4] ‘O ye the progeny of those whom We carried in the Ark with Noah.’ He was indeed a grateful servant.
[17:5] And We revealed to the children of Israel in the Book, saying, ‘You will surely do mischief in the land twice, and you will surely become excessively overbearing.’
[17:6] So when the time for the first of the two warnings came, We sent against you someservants of Ours possessed of great might in war, and they penetrated the innermost parts of your houses, and it was a warning that was bound to be carried out.
[17:7] Then We gave you back the power against them, and aided you with wealth and children, and made you larger in numbers.

You may read the whole chapter from the above link and then mention where the winged horse is mentioned. It is not a very long chapter. Seeing is believing; you can verify it yourself.

I appreciate your visiting my blog and discussing things. You are most welcome. I like the Humanists.

      • paarsurrey Says:

        Dream and visions are interpret-able.

      • Arkenaten Says:

        Yes or no?

  2. Arkenaten Says:

If you not believe Mohammed went to heaven on a winged horse please say so.

  3. Arkenaten Says:

”There is no mention of such a winged horse in Quran. Please correct yourself being a good Humanist.”’

Fine. But do you believe Mohammed went to heaven on a winged horse? Yes or No?

    • paarsurrey Says:

It was a vision not a physical journey;like one sees in a dream and is interpret-able as dreams and vision are always.
There is no mention of the winged horse in Quran; it is mentioned in Hadith.

You may view information/menion about it in the following commentary:

      Thanks

  4. Arkenaten Says:

Some believe it was a vision others consider it was a physical journey,
Do you believe Mohammed went to heaven on a winged horse?
    Yes or No?

    • paarsurrey Says:

It cannot be in physical terms as Masjid-e-Aqsa or Al-Aqsa Mosque did not exist in the life time of Muhammad; so it was a spiritual journey not a physical journey.

It speaks of spiritual ascension of Muhammad.
