Not only that Jesus did not appoint Paul as his successor; he never even mentioned to the twelve that Paul, who was hitherto an enemy of Jesus, would someday convert and become his successor/epistle/Apostle in future

Markparker1 says:

I’m also mainly in agreement with the Rev. There is way too much imbeded testimony in the Old Testament about Christ, plus confimation in the New Testament and Book of Mormon with it’s powerful witnesses and the witness of the Holy Ghost.

Paarsurrey says:

Hi friend markparker1

I think I cannot buy that and also Rev. won’t agree with you that Book of Mormon had anything to do with Jesus.

I can understand that Jesus was unders persecution from the Jews; who were after him to kill him on the Cross to prove that he was not truthful Messenger Prophets of God Allah YHWH; nevetheless Jesus was an upright man. I don’t think that it is a tenable excuse and it favours Jesus that he did not mention for forgot to mention in the Old Testament of his coming by name; and only left clues that Jews never accepted.

One can search the Old Testaments with a powerful microscope but one would fail to find Jesus’ name in the Old Testament.

What was Jesus, god of Bible afraid of by not mentioning his name clearly? Were there Jews in the heaven to persecute him and kill him there?

I take it as a wishful thinking of the Christians to find Jesus of Bible, a god, in the Old Testament.

As far as the appointment of Messengers/ Prophets/ is concerned; as explained earlier it is the sole discretion of God Allah YHWH; and it was not in place for Paul and Joseph Smith.

Even Jesus did not appoint Paul; he never mentioned to the twelve that after crucifixion; Paul, who was hitherto an enemy of Jesus, would convert and become his successor/epitle/Apostel.

The Christians should side with Jesus instead of siding with Paul and Joseph Smith.

I quote here from Bible as to how Moses met with God Allah YHWH and the dialogue that took place :

2 And the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he saw that the bush was on fire and was not burnt. 3 And Moses said: I will go and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. 4 And when the Lord saw that he went forward to see, he called to him out of the midst of the bush, and said: Moses, Moses. And he answered: Here I am. 5 And he said: Come not nigh hither, put off the shoes from thy feet: for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.6 And he said: I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
Exodus 3:2-6

The personage clearly tells his antecedents and gives signs to Moses; and Moses asks very pertinent questions and is answered by God Allah YHWH.

Moese was a truthful Messenger of God Allah YHWH and died a natural death.

There is no such clarity in the visions of Paul and Joseph Smith; their visions are foggy and without any clarity; they were self appointed and hence were killed in terms of Deuteronomy.

I respect your faith.

I love Jesus and Mary as I love Moses and his mother.

Thanks

I have a difficult time with your belief about Jesus never appointed Paul. Before Paul became a believer in Christ, his name was Saul and he was on a destructive path of killing the Christians. But on the road to damacus, Jesus shined his light on him and changed the course of history for Saul who became Paul. The Bible says in Acts 9:15 – Lord is speaking to Ananias about Saul, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel.” The Bible teaches that Jesus is Lord. So when the Lord was speaking to Ananias, you can also imply that Jesus (being Lord) was the one speaking to Ananias.

God had a plan for Saul who later became Paul. At first the Christians in Jerusalme had a problem with Paul because of his past history – they didn’t know if he could be trusted or even if he was a true believer. After hearing his testimony and seen for themselves what kind of a man he turned out to be, they knew God had raised him up to be a missionary to the churches.

As far as Jesus being mentioned in the Old Testament – The word “theophany” refers to an Old Testament appearance of
Christ. When the three friends came to see Abraham and Sarah. The two angels went down to scout out Sodom and Gomorrow – Jesus stayed behind and talked with Abraham. Read Genesis 18:22, Jesus is mentioned as Lord.

When Joshua was about to fight against Jerico, the Lord of host appeared before him and Joshua bowed down to him – Joshua 5: 14. The captain of the host is Jesus not Michael the Archangel.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendago, when they were thrown into the Furnace, King Nebuchadnezzar mentioned that the fourth man looked like the “son of God”.

I could keep going on and on about how many times Jesus appeard to the people in the Old Testament but I don’t want to waste your time. Jesus has many names – Please learn the names of Christ before assuming that he was never mentioned in the Old Testament.

I know that you don’t believe in the Bible which makes me wonder why you ask these questions – is it for the sake of argument? I have studied the Qu’ran and it mentions killing infidels and killing anyone who is not a Muslim. Is that why we have so many terrorist attacks in the world? If we don’t convert to the Muslim faith, we will die because we are infidels?

      Hi friend Michelle

I think you don’t get my point. Mary the mother named her son as Jesus; so Jesus s/o Mary is the proper name, other names are only attributive. First it is appropriate to locate Jesus’ proper name in the Old Testament.

We don’t find name of Jesus god of Bible in the Old Testament; however, we may try to find it there.

I think you would agree with me. Do you agree?

I think searching and researching for truth, is the time properly utilized.

I love Jesus and Mary as mentioned in Quran.

No, I don’t agree with you. Everytime God came on Earth in the Old Testament it was in the form of a Man and the Bible tells us that in John 1 that in the beginning was the word and word was God and word became flesh and dwelt among us – that would be in reference to Jesus. I don’t think there is a “proper” name for the son of God. Yes, majority of the Christians know him by Jesus but the Bible tells me that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He never change and has always existed even before Adam was created. So when Jesus appeared in the Old Testament as theophany that doesn’t discredit his character or his position as the son of God. God himself know physically in the Old Testament in the representation of a man who the Christians claim to be Christ. Please study the commentaries on Christ appearing in the Old Testament. No, he didn’t go by the name of Jesus, he went by other names – the captain of the host, Ye’shua, King of Jerusalem and so forth.

So, in a way you agree with me that God Allah YHWH did not appoint Paul as His Apostel/Epistel/Messenger.

God Allah YHWH did not have a plan for Saul/Paul; if He had a plan then He would have mentioned it in the Old Tesatament about it. We don’t find any mention like that there.

If Jesus would have got a plan for Saul or Paul; then he would have mentioned it to the tewlve before the event of Crucifixion; and this also would have been recorded in the four gospel books.

It is evident that neither God Allah YHWH had a plan for Saul/ Paul; nor Jesus had any plan.

The vision which Paul says he he saw on the road to Damuscus; is therefore his own cunning and intriguing plan; having nothing to do with Jesus.

Jesus was at that time heading towards India.

I think you would now agree with me.

      I respect your faith.

God DID appoint Paul, just because he never mentioned it to anyone before the crucifixion doesn’t mean the value of Paul as a missionary is discredited. God is constantly appointing people to spread his word – check out Timothy, Titus, Philemon – none of these Christians were mentioned before Jesus’ death. Does that mean they shouldn’t be spreading the Gospel message? Life of a person is always changing when they come in contact with God. And I believe Paul’s conversion on the road to Damacus was genuine and real. And no Jesus was not on his way to India. He already ascended into Heaven before Paul became a Christian.
