Jesus was to deliver Israelites from slavery and to emancipate them. How did he do it?

Jesus had come as mentioned in the OTBible to deliver Israelites from their slavery and to emancipate them. There were only two tribes out of the total twelve in the time of Jesus in Jerusalem, the rest were in exile. How and in what manner Jesus accomplished this task?
